How to overcome shyness instantly (well in 3 minutes, that is)… This is going to be REALLY embarrassing for me. But hey, I’m willing to do whatever it takes for you to be magnetic to success!
After watching this 30-second video clip you won’t believe
I suffer from extreme shyness. Actually no one ever believes me when I tell them that. If you’re reading this, then perhaps you are just like me.
I’ve seen so many programs and methods out there to overcome shyness, stage fright, social anxiety…etc. However, I’ve found a cure that’s almost instant…or will only take you a few minutes to implement.
Actually, it’s not exactly a cure. You’re going to be GREATER than it. It’s normal to be a bit nervous when you’ve got to present or speak in front of a crowd.
TALK ABOUT EXTREME SHYNESS!
When I was a teenager, I was so shy that if there were 3 or more guys chatting in the corridor I would go to the second floor and then back downstairs just to avoid them. Yikes! Can you imagine?
FLASH FORWARD TO LAST YEAR…
It was karaoke night after the first day of Michael Penland’s Internet Marketing Super Conference (that’s Michael and I in the photo above – he’s an awesome heart-centered marketer).
Speakers and attendees were mixing and mingling. Everything was great until Michael’s lovely wife Sherry asked me what song I’d be singing…
Ugghhh!!! I can’t sing and I’m painfully shy. I told her I would pass. Then others got involved. Everyone was pushing me to sing! The situation was becoming larger than life, exactly what I didn’t want.
Then it hit me! If I back down now, I will miss out on my opportunities. So I got up and chose Madonna’s “Material Girl” and put on the best show I could…
The results? The beginning of a wonderful business friendship. I just got booked to speak at Michael Penland’s 20th Internet Marketing Super Conference in Orlando in May 2010.
So the next time you THINK you’re too shy to do something:
- THINK about all the opportunities you will NEVER know you missed…
- THINK about the people you will NOT reach because you were too afraid…
- THINK about the success you will NOT have because you couldn’t step up and PLAY BIG…
Now THAT is SCARY!
When you live outside your comfort zone you become magnetic to successful people who offer you BIG opportunities and RAPID growth!
Okay, now for walking my talk. I said I would never put this video on the Internet, but here’s a short clip so you can laugh at me (I’m cutting it short to spare your ears from my “singing”).

What a Fantastic post Rhonda.
This is exactly why most people settle for mediocrity, because they are too shy to step up and take that leap in faith to do something they are not comfortable in.
My motto and what I try to do as best I can is “Always put yourself in a position that causes you to grow”
You are either growing or dying so its best to know that if you are uncomfortable you are in the right place!

Great post, Rhonda. People sometimes freak out when I tell them I battle shyness too. A good lesson in pushing beyond the comfort zone. Of course, I still wanted to see the singing part.

You were ROCKING those moves girl!!
Actually, I will believe you when you say you had extreme shyness, I do too and people say nah, no way! But it’s true! I have a fear of public speaking but I also had a fear of singing on stage so a few months ago,
I organized a group of girls to go sing karaoke on stage with a live band and when we get there, mostly everyone chickened out except me…I got up there and sang, “I will survive” and guess what? i did! I survived my first karaoke experience and I had so much fun!!
You never know what you can accomplish if you don’t push the limits of your abilities!! Woohoo!!
